Join our dynamic sales team at Wilderness England and Wilderness Scotland. As a sales consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable adventure experiences for our clients across the stunning landscapes of the UK. Your knowledge of the entire United Kingdom, passion for outdoor exploration, and exceptional sales skills will be the driving force behind connecting adventurers with their dream holidays in England, Scotland and beyond.

In Brief:

  • Role – Sales Consultant
  • Location – Aviemore for the initial training period (3 weeks), then open to hybrid working within England or Scotland offices
  • Type – Full time, permanent
  • Office Time – 95% In the field – 5%
  • Salary – From £22,000 per annum, dependent on experience

What we're looking for

  • Proven Sales Experience: Ideally in the travel or tourism sector, showcasing your ability to drive revenue through effective sales strategies.
  • Sales Target Achievement and Self-Motivation: A track record of consistently meeting and surpassing challenging sales targets. Self-driven and motivated to achieve sales goals.
  • Versatility in Sales and Product Knowledge: Comfortable selling both pre-packaged and customised adventure travel products, adapting to clients’ diverse needs. A thorough understanding of the company’s products and industry trends, an in-depth knowledge of the UK, and the ability to confidently describe Wilderness products.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. A high degree of proficiency in copywriting and editing to create compelling sales materials and communicate with clients. Comfortable and confident talking on the phone and via live chat.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: A genuine commitment to providing outstanding customer service and building lasting client relationships.
  • Agility, Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to work swiftly while maintaining precision in tasks and decisions. A keen eye for detail, coupled with solid numeracy and administrative skills, ensuring seamless sales processes.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to identify challenges and find creative solutions to overcome them.
  • Time Management, Adaptability and Flexibility: Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing customer needs, market conditions and logistical issues. A willingness to change and adapt to situations and working flexible hours when necessary.
  • Team Collaboration and Continuous Learning: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues. An open mind to give and receive feedback. Eager to undertake continuous professional and personal development through training to stay updated on industry developments, improve sales techniques and offer outstanding customer service.
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant sales software, cloud-based CRM systems such as Salesforce, and digital tools like Google Apps and Mac applications
  • Sustainability Commitment: A strong dedication to sustainability, coupled with a passion for preserving wild places and protecting the environment.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Timely Client Engagement: Promptly responding to written and telephone client inquiries, providing informative and engaging responses.
  • Conversion Expertise: Adhering to established sales processes to effectively convert client inquiries into confirmed bookings, maximising sales opportunities.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Listening attentively to clients, understanding their preferences and desires, and tailoring trip recommendations to best meet their needs and expectations.
  • Booking Processing: Efficiently processing new bookings, ensuring all necessary details and documentation are accurately recorded.
  • CRM Management: Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate client database within the CRM system, recording client interactions, preferences, and important information for future reference.
  • Document Compilation: Compiling comprehensive client travel documentation, including itineraries, route notes, and any other relevant materials, to ensure a seamless travel experience for clients.
