Katie Armitage

Mini Bio

Born and raised in Northumberland, I was fortunate to have grown up surrounded by the beautiful countryside. As a family, we always went on incredible walking holidays around the world. It all started with weekend trips to the Lake District; I did my first Wainwright when I was five. Since then, my love of the outdoors has opened my eyes to some truly amazing experiences.

At University, I studied Film and Television production. I worked in TV for a few years on location around the UK, but I always knew I wanted to work in travel. I began my travel career in 2014, where I worked for two self guided UK walking holiday companies and really developed my UK product knowledge. My favourite part of being in this industry is the great memories we help to create for people from all over the world.

Favourite Place to Play

For walking trips, it’s hard to choose one place, but I love exploring different parts of the Lake District. I’m currently ticking off the Wainwrights, and this has led me to parts of the Lakes I may have never discovered.

My favourite roads to cycle are along the Hadrian’s Wall Cycleway, where I grew up. I know those hills very well!

Not a lot of People Know This

I can hula hoop for over an hour (well, maybe longer!) without stopping, and I am very bad at baking cakes… very bad!
