Travel to England

Finding Your Way

England has a strong network of road, rail and air links, making travelling to our beautiful country simple and convenient. Once you have arrived, public transport connections make getting around easy. With all our guided group trips beginning and ending at a train station or ferry terminal, arriving at the start point of any adventure is straightforward and stress-free.

We believe in responsible and sustainable travel, which is why all our itineraries are designed to minimalise their carbon footprint, support local communities, and protect the wild places we visit. To enable environmentally friendly travel choices, we are partnered with companies that place the well-being of our planet at the heart of what they do. As adventurers, we can travel more sustainably by making well-informed choices, flying less, staying longer, and making our journeys count once we arrive.

Choosing a trip with Wilderness Scotland means choosing a company that is fully committed to sustainable travel in a meaningful and impactful way.

The majority of our guided group trips begin and end at a train station with arrival and departure times planned around the train timetables where possible. There are regular trains on different lines throughout the day, but be aware that trains are less frequent on Sundays and bank holidays.

While it is normally possible to buy train tickets on your day of travel, it is usually more cost-effective to buy tickets in advance. If you wish to bring your bike on the train, it must be booked ahead of time.

Arriving by Bus Read More

It is also possible to travel to the start points of our trips by bus. Less expensive, and with stations adjacent or close to train stations, they are a convenient and affordable means of travel.

Arriving by Car Read More

If you choose to travel by car and need to find long-stay parking, we can offer guidance. However, the responsibility rests with you to find an option you are happy with.
