    Mini Bio

    Halò/Dia duit/Hi!

I’m a Northern Irish native who has followed the Celtic Connection to Scotland. My Wilderness journey began unofficially back in 2017, when I saw them as the company I wanted to guide for. Fast forward to 2023, and I had my first journey. Since then, I have guided on two feet, two wheels, and two blades, doing my utmost to meet the needs of our clients and ensuring that their wishlist is met to the best of my ability.

    Favourite Place to Play

I hold a special place in my heart for the Lake District. I have run the length of it in a day, from North to South, as well as run many of the classic hill routes, both alone and with friends. The area provides many excellent crags for rock climbing.

Not a lot of People Know This

I had a past life as a mural artist, a breakdancer, a kickboxer, a taekwondo fighter and even flirted a bit with pole dancing. I believe you should give anything and everything a go, even if it’s just once.

Our guide was fabulous. She had an incredible ability to inspire us to tackle challenging terrain but ensure that hikers of all abilities were able to meet the challenge. She is inspirational and very knowledgeable of the region. We had a great time with her guidance.

Even though Rach was a first-time guide on the Knoydart trip, I thought she did an excellent job of leading and managing the group. Also, I loved her positive energy.

Rachael is enthusiastic and passionate about Scotland , she is knowledgeable and engaging about the history, geology, fauna and flora which added another dimension to our trip. The plan B for our visit to Corrour Station allowed us to enjoy a ride that was not originally planned for and something we had hoped to do !

Rachel rocks!!! We were so thrilled to spend the week with Rachel. She guided us, drove us, fixed our bikes, cleaned our bikes, pivoted when we needed pivoting, recommended alternatives when we needed recommending, and is someone I now consider a friend. Anyone would be lucky to have Rachel as their guide.
