Meet your Wilderness guide at Truro Railway Station and transfer a short distance to a traditional Cornish pub for lunch. Afterwards, lace up your boots for a scenic walk that begins with a steady climb to the top of St Agnes Beacon. This distinctive hill has long drawn human activity, serving as a ceremonial site and lookout post over the centuries. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views before descending to join a peaceful stretch of the South West Coast Path. Follow the clifftop trail past the striking Towanroath Engine House before completing the loop and transferring west to the characterful harbour village of Mousehole (pronounced mowzel) and your cosy hotel.

On the way out, take in the views as the path dips close to the sea and keep an eye out for seabirds. After lunch in Lamorna, head inland on a gentle climb through quiet lanes and fields circling back towards Mousehole. Pass through Kemyel Crease Nature Reserve where tall conifers line the path planted as windbreaks when the clifftop fields were once cultivated for crops. Follow the South West Coast Path ribboning beneath a low canopy of branches and arrive back in time to relax before dinner.

Descend through sheltered woodland to reach a tucked-away churchyard, an ideal spot to pause for a hot drink. Later, follow the South West Coast Path along a stunning stretch of clifftop, watching wintery waves break across smooth golden sand. The final section of the walk is a relaxed stroll back into St Ives, where you can wander around the pretty town’s galleries and harbourfront cafés before returning to Mousehole.

Afterwards, spend time in Botallack, a village rich in mining history and a location for the filming of BBC’s Poldark. Accompanied by your guide, walk down to the famous Crown Engine Houses that cling to the foot of the cliffs. This afternoon, return to your hotel for another delicious dinner.
