    Mini Bio

My childhood of growing up in the Lincolnshire Wolds and always being outside – walking the dog, horse riding, or cycling – along with active family holidays got me into my love of the outdoors. After being a teacher for 12 years, fitting in expeditions and guiding work during weekends and holidays, it was time to have a career change. I am now an expedition facilitator, walking guide, leadership coach, first aid instructor, and navigation tutor.

I have led expeditions around the world, including to Switzerland, Tanzania, Everest Base Camp, along the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland, and working in the Arctic as a snowmobile guide. My love for guiding people in the UK is just the same as it is abroad, and nothing can beat the beautiful British countryside or magnificent national parks that we are lucky to have. Having been to the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, I’m also a little fond of showing off these grand and quirky historic cities!

I am passionate about spending time outdoors and in nature, and how this can help our wellbeing. I also enjoy taking photos (but am definitely not a photographer!) and being snuggled up on the sofa with my spaniel.

    Favourite Place to Play

That’s a hard one! I have lived in lots of parts of England, so many places hold good memories, such as The Cotswolds, New Forest, and Lincolnshire Wolds. But surely it’s got to be where home is now – The Peak District.

Not a lot of People Know This

Whilst out in the Canadian outback driving an all-terrain vehicle, I took a bend too fast, came off the track, ran over a tree, chopped it down, and then fell off and ran myself over!

    Biggest Adventure Read More

I spent time in Greenland – during the summer, walking the Arctic Circle Trail and, in winter, snowmobile guiding, which included picking up the French SAS after their Arctic training.

I love to find out new facts and information. Nature, in general, interests me, from animals to plants to landscapes.
