    Mini Bio

I grew up in Yorkshire, lived in Scotland for a while, and now Cumbria is home. I climb, kayak, mountain bike, and cave; but my current key interest is triathlon. So I guess swimming, cycling and running should be in the list too.

    Favourite Place to Play

It’s so hard to pick a favourite. Walking and biking (road or mountain) in the Lake District, winter climbing and kayaking (river or sea) in Scotland, Mountaineering in Peru.

Not a lot of People Know This

I recently won silver in a non-wetsuit International Winter Swimming Association event.

What Fellow Travellers Say About Nat

    Nat is an excellent guide.

The guides were great. They managed team members that sat the day out, got us to and from the trails each morning and evening. However, the fact that they manipulated the schedule slightly to allow additional time at the museums was appreciated as we may never get back to them.
Wilderness has a team to be proud of.

Outstanding guides. Nat provided outstanding leadership in a friendly and respectful manner. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, making the daily hikes really enjoyable. Pete provided outstanding logistic support and is also extremely knowledgeable and experienced as an adventurer and guide. We could not have asked for better guides for this trip. Our highest admiration and respect for these two.

Nat is just amazing. He was constantly moving between group members throughout each walk to make sure everyone was fine, and to share time and stories with us. And, very attentive to those of us who may need additional time and support - keeping the group together while allowing a degree of freedom to walkers who liked to set the pace ahead of the main group. I could see that Mat was giving Pete (himself an accomplished guide) great support in his support role. I hope you will give Pete lots of opportunities to be the lead guide. He is a fantastic addition to your team. One of the most interesting people I have met, always smiling, upbeat and unfailingly helpful.

Nat and Pete were both phenomenal. Really good at reading the crowd, getting us to our targets on time without being rushed, and really good knowledge of the places we went

Nat was not only a guide, but an historian , storyteller and an assured confident leader. He interacted with everyone on the hike. He was never impatient-always calm and reassuring. Pete was amazing as well. He was so informative and worked so hard keeping things organized. He was always smiling. He and Nat worked together amazingly well.

Nat was amazing. His infectious energy and flexibility with walkers of different levels was terrific. Pete was a whiz on the logistics side of the trip.
