I have been hiking, running and rock climbing in the mountains for over 20 years. It made perfect sense for me to become an International Mountains Leader and share this passion with others. Since 2014, I have been leading groups of walkers and runners in the UK, the Alps and occasionally the Himalayas.
When I’m not guiding, I work as a researcher in nutrition and food security. They are two completely different jobs and I really value the variety.
I live in the beautiful Lake District, and I have been up all of the Wainwrights at least once. This national park is my local playground.
Further north, I love exploring Scotland. One of my favourite adventures ever was walking the Cape Wrath Trail, a long distance hike up the west of the Highlands from Fort William to Cape Wrath.
I love techno music and dancing!
International Mountain Leader
It’s hard to choose a favourite, but one of the most memorable was a 5 day hike through the Drakensburg mountains, where South Africa meets Lesotho. We slept in caves, encountered poisonous plants (my hands came up in huge blisters) and almost got caught in a wild fire!
Nutrition
Please see prior answer for general trip. They were tremendous, and I highly recommend them. They were fun to be around, competent, and flexible and creative in modifying plans to meet our changing needs and desires!
