Mini Bio

My mum and dad were founding members of the “Rangiora Tramping Club” in New Zealand, so I grew up spending most of my weekends in the hills and valleys of Arthur’s Pass and other wild parts of New Zealand. At high school my mates and I taught ourselves to kayak by putting our boats in the school pool at lunch time and figuring it out.

Since then I’ve been working as a guide and instructor in New Zealand, the UK, Turkey and other beautiful places.

Not a lot of people know this

My mum was a brownie leader, and I think I was Aberdeen’s first boy brownie.

Adventurer's Stories about Jeremy

MR Martin works hard and he is an experienced guide, worked as if it was effortless—-till at the end, we saw him worn under extraordinary stress and circumstance.

Jeremy was a brilliant guide. Knowledgeable, capable, clearly experienced, kind and considerate. He adapted walks well to cater for the varying abilities of the group and the vagaries of the weather. The care he demonstrated when one of the group became ill was outstanding.

Jeremy is the consummate professional. He seamlessly wove our days accommodating multiple individual visions with options for everyone. We were regaled with history, botany,, humour and music. Jeremy has mad skills as a guide (navigation etc). But I most appreciated the encouragement. I am returning with several goals for my future hiking life. Thank you beyond measure.
