    Mini Bio

With binoculars, a camera, and a rucksack filled with literature on the area, I was prepared to guide my first group around the Orkney Isles back in 1997. Since then, I have led a wide range of groups throughout Scotland and England, specialising in ornithology and natural history.

Born in Yorkshire and raised in a rural village in Dumfries and Galloway I soon found myself exploring around the local loch and developed a thirst for all things within the wonderful natural world. This eventually led to a career in ranger/warden work throughout the UK, from remote islands to the city suburbs. Now, as a freelance ecologist, I am privileged and fortunate to be able to share my knowledge as a guide of the great outdoors, from our wildlife and history to its folklore and wonderful culture.
