Will was a great tour leader: helpful, flexible, abd responsive to requests. Also, he squeezed in a visit to a place I'd never heard of that may relate to my ancestors, Finlaggan. Or not, don't know, but Tiree is in the Isles.
Accommodation & Food
EXCEPT, what self-respecting hotelier if a posh hotel thinks a tea drinker, that is, sometimes who drinks real tea from loose leaf tea, can he fobbed off with a story about people preferring tea bags? As I say to all venue hosts, would you serve your customers Nescafe? Fortunately, I always travel with the necessary equipment and fresh tea to BMO.
Will was a shining light; knowledgeable, enthusiastic, interested in the group and how we experienced the locatiobs and walks respectful, perhaps a little shy when he had to assist some of us up a rocky cliff; sometimes a shove is appropriate!
We were lucky to have him.
The Bottom Line
Excellent. The accommodation was more upmarket than expected which explains much of the cost and being out all day meant we didn't make the most of it. That said, the locations, views, and spacious rooms were welcome. I would accept venues a little less grand, so long as they were quiet with a view.
