- Why Choose a Custom Trip? Read More
If you’re looking for the ultimate flexibility in your holiday and a level of personalisation beyond our regular trips, then choosing to go Custom or Tailor Made is the way to go. Like a custom kitchen or tailor made suit, this means the design is exclusively for and unique to you and your travelling companions. It may be as simple as wanting to select one of our existing trips on dates of your choosing with your own private group. In that case, a private departure is yours along with any element of customisation you would like. Alternatively, you may have a trip in mind that most tour companies don’t consider possible. However, for us, the magic lies in challenging the impossible and making it a reality. For individuals or groups of any size, our custom service transforms great holidays into trips of a lifetime.
- Destinations Read More
Wilderness England are destination experts and operating throughout the country, including classic locations such as the Cotswolds and the Lake District to lesser known and undiscovered gems in places such as Northumberland. On our custom trips you can choose to visit as few or as many of these locations as you wish. We regularly team up with our partner companies, Wilderness Scotland and Wilderness Ireland to create multi-country adventures by land and sea. Our network of luxury accommodation, restaurant and other experience partners in each region is unrivalled, showcasing the best of the country’s culture, hospitality and service.
- When Should I Book? Read More
Given that we create each trip from scratch, the earlier you can get in touch to discuss your travel plans the better. Many of our custom trips are created and booked more than 6 months in advance.
Generally, it is very challenging to create and deliver a custom trip with less than 8 weeks notice, especially during the busy summer period. The later you leave it, the more challenging the process becomes and you may need to compromise on your preferred hotel or activities if they are unavailable on your travel dates. It’s never too early to start planning.
The more details you can give us at the start, the better equipped we are to design your perfect trip. When getting in touch, first of all, consider locations you would like to visit, activities you would like to include, the standard of accommodation that you would like to stay in and what your budget is. Also, let us know if you have any must do’s or must-sees.
- Getting Started Read More
Please call us for some inspiration and to discuss your plans, or use the fantastic Interactive Holiday Builder on our website to let us know about your dream adventure holiday in England. The earlier you can let us know you are a planning a custom trip the better, this means we are more likely to secure the best hotels, on your preferred travel dates. Booking early also means that we are more likely to have one of our senior guides lead your trip.
Your dedicated trip designer will provide you with an initial overview of what we think your holiday could look like so we can make sure that we are heading along the right lines. Then we’ll work closely with you to finesse the details before finalising your customised trip.
- Pricing and Confirmation Read More
Once we have agreed on an itinerary, we will price the trip for you and provide a more detailed proposal, if required. Since each custom trip is unique, pricing is done completely from scratch so this may take 48-72hrs to finalise.
With the itinerary, the number of travellers and the trip price agreed we will take a 25% deposit to confirm your booking. Once we have received your payment we will go ahead and secure your accommodations and source the best guide to lead your holiday. If having seen the pricing, you want to make a change before confirming the trip, we may ask for an initial deposit of £500. The balance of the deposit would then be taken when the final itinerary and price is agreed.
Then, no later than 4 weeks before you are due to travel, we will send you a final information document with all the information you require. We’ll then follow up with a phone call 2 weeks before you travel to answer any last-minute questions. Your dedicated trip designer will, of course, be on hand to help with any queries you may have at any point.
When you leave home you can depart knowing everything will be taken care of, leaving you to relax and enjoy your truly unique Wilderness England experience.
